National Minimum Wage for Nannies

National Minimum Wage for Nannies
Please note that the current national minimum wage is £5.52 gross per hour for anyone aged 22 and over and £4.60 gross per hour for those aged 18 to 21. The minimum rate for 16-17 year olds is £3.40 per hour. These rates will increase on 1st October 2008 to £5.73 for employees over 22, to £4.77 for those aged 18 to 21 and to £3.53 for 16 to 17 year olds.

Nanny Wages

The minimum wage does not apply to a live-in nanny who lives with the family. However where the employee has separate accommodation then the national minimum wage will apply subject to an offset of £4.15 per day for each day that accommodation is provided.

Please contact Taxing Nannies if you require further information about nanny wages.
